State of Opportunity, a project conducted by Michigan Radio NPR, recently released an audio documentary called We Live Here, a documentary about the history and future of neighborhood schools in Detroit. The documentary aims to answer the question of what happens to neighborhoods – and the kids that live there – when schools close. Dr. Noguera was featured in the documentary as an expert on urban education and the role of poverty in education.
